Social Libertarian Press

image We invite writers and readers considering opportunities for social independence to participate with Social Libertarian Press. Our focus here is on social liberty, rather than political liberty. We hope to consider mechanisms of social independence, requiring little or no power over other people and institutions.

For example, home schoolers often focus on helping children maintain independence from standard schools. Home schoolers rarely try to get control of schools. Our educational materials are useful for home schoolers. They promote independent thought and action. The booklet, Piano Lessons, provides suggestions for learning to play the piano by ear. It can be used without a piano teacher. The book, Tutoring Algebra, provides suggestions for understanding algebra independently that don't rely on the instructions of an authority figure.

Appalachian trail hikers have a culture of independence. Our first published work of fiction is an ultralight trail edition of a novel about Appalachian hikers. We provide support for hikers.

One of the writers for the Social Libertarian Press has written autobiographical accounts of characteristically independent adventures.

At Social Libertarian Press, we put people before profit. We strive to make ideas and materials on this site available in some form without cost.
